Details of Competition

Men's division

Each district may nominate 2 teams (each team consisting of 5 to 20 players).

Each district may nominate a maximum of 40 players, 720 players in total.

Participating athletes must be aged 15 or above (i.e. born in or before 2009).
Two members of a team of 10 or less players must be youth players aged between 15 and 21 (i.e. born between 2003 and 2009). Three members of a team of more than 10 players must be youth players aged between 15 and 21.

• The preliminary round will adopt a single round-robin format. Each of the 18 districts shall nominate 2 teams. The 36 teams will be divided by ballot into 12 groups consisting of 3 districts each.
• The top 4 districts of this event in the 7th HKG may each nominate their best performing team in the 9th HKG as seed team, which will be assigned to 4 different groups first. The non-seed teams from the 4 districts and the 28 teams from the remaining 14 districts (i.e. a total of 32 teams) will be divided into groups by ballot. The top team of each group and the best 4 runners-up will advance to the round of 16.
• The semi-finals (16 teams) and the final will adopt a single-elimination format.
